Obituary for Alice J Epple (Donohue)

Alice J  Epple (Donohue)
Alice J. Epple nee Donohue, 72, of Brick and formerly of Wall passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. She was a communicant of St. Martha’s Church in Brick. Mrs. Epple was born in Orange, grew up in East Orange and lived in Wall Twp. for 53 years before moving to Lions Head in Brick 11 years ago.
She was a loving, dedicated mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. Alice continually provided a helping hand to family and friends in need of anything big or small. She often provided love, comfort and care to the sick. Alice also loved to garden, cook, shop and do ceramics.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Frederick Nicholas Epple in 2011; her parents Patrick and Sarah Donohue; her son Patrick also in 2011; her brother Jack Donohue; her sister Catherine Kovacs; and by her brother–in-law Lajos Skrapits. Surviving are her daughters Kelly O’Dea and her husband Kevin of Spring Lake, Bernadette Cusick and her husband James of Point Pleasant; sister Maureen Skrapits of Wall; grandchildren James, Devin, Sean and Erin; sister-in-law Joan Donohue of Fords; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visiting will be on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday 9:30am at St. Martha’s RC Church, Point Pleasant. Entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River. Donations may be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
