Obituary for Edward H. McKeon

Edward H. McKeon, 89, of Sea Girt, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014.
Mr. McKeon was born and raised in Englewood. He was a long-time resident of Woodside, Queens, before moving to Sea Girt in 1993. He was an Army veteran of WWII, having served as a Sgt. in the Philippines. He was a Police Officer for Port Authority of NY/NJ for 35 years, retiring as a Lt. at the George Washington Bridge in 1987. He was a founder of Signal 8-2, the magazine of the Port Authority Police Dept., and after retiring, regularly met with fellow retirees for lunch.
Mr. McKeon was predeceased by his parents, John and Rita (nee Connell) McKeon, as well as by his first wife, Marian (nee Plante) in 1990, and by his daughter, Linda Lorenzino. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Marilyn Staub-McKeon, of Sea Girt, his son, Robert McKeon, of Queens, his daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Howard Stollow, of Galloway, his step-daughter, Dr. Kathy Howley, of Little Egg Harbor, and his son-in-law, Dominic Lorenzino. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tara Greene, Dawn Sullivan, and David and Kevin Stollow, as well as by his great-grandchildren, Matthew, Joellen and London Stollow, Eva, Jack and Colin Sullivan, and Daniel, Mackenzie and Brad Greene, and several nephews and nieces.
Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Sunday, June 29, 2014, from 2-4 P.M. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mark’s Church, Sea Girt, on Monday, June 30, 2014, at 9:30 A.M., followed by entombment at St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Wall. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. McKeon’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
