Obituary for Victor A Corallo

Victor A. Corallo, 81, of Belmar, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Corallo was born and raised in the North Ward of Newark. After graduating from Barringer High School, he served in the US Army. He volunteered as a courier in the Signal Corps during the Korean/Cold War serving in Germany. Before coming to Belmar full time in 1992, he was a resident of Fairfield for many years with a summer residence in Belmar. He was self-employed in the drapery and decorating business in the Newark area before retiring. He served as Vice-Commander of the Belmar/Wall/Juneau V.F.W., Post 2620, and was an active member of Atonement Lutheran Church, Asbury Park.

Mr. Corallo was predeceased by his mother, Helen (nee Corsetto) Corallo. He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Joan (nee Klein) Corallo, his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Winnie Corallo, of Virginia Beach, VA, and his grandchildren, Ryan and Jessica Corallo. He is also survived by many beloved nephews, nieces, cousins and in-laws.

Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35 at New Bedford Rd, Wall, on Wednesday, July 23rd from 4-8pm and again on Thursday, July 24 from 10am until the funeral service at 10:30am. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
