James R. Carr, 72, of Toms River, formerly of Brick passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, July 28, 2014 surrounded by his family. Mr. Carr was a logistics manager for the Hermann Leasing Company in South Brunswick before retiring in 2007. He was a member of the Teamsters Union of New Jersey.
Born in Roseborough, NC, he lived in Brick for 20 years before living in Cape Coral, FL.
Mr. Carr was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny. Survivng are his loving wife of 44 years, Catherine (Bonnie) Carr; son, Brian Carr and his wife, Marianne of Long Branch; daughter, Christine Carr Ramos and her husband Jose, of Brick; brother, Jerry of Virginia and Douglas of Florida; sisters, Diane Elefante and her husband John of Toms River, Barbara Roche of Chicago, IL and Frances Weaver of Virginia. He also leaves his 2 grandchildren, Jose Ramos, Jr. and Madelyn Lucille Carr.
Visiting will be on Thursday from 6-9pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be conducted on Thursday at 8:30pm in the funeral home. Final interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
