Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Louise Manzi can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Louise  Manzi (Longo)
Louise Manzi, 90, of Brick, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 15, 2014 at home surrounded by her family and friends.
Louise was born in Jersey City and also lived in Bayonne, Point Pleasant Beach, wintered in West Palm Beach for years, before moving to Brick in 2002.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Salvatore in 2006, her parents, John Longo in 1976 and Rose Longo in 1989, her brother, Ralph Longo in 1974 and sister, Angela Zawacki in 1999. She is survived by her two brothers, Rocco Longo of Mount Laurel, Armand Longo and his wife Dolores of Wayne, a brother-in-law, Henry Zawacki of Point Pleasant; her son, Thomas Manzi and his wife Sandra of Point Pleasant; and her daughter, Patricia Lempa and her husband Robert of Point Pleasant Beach. She also leaves her four grandchildren who were always her pride and joy, Dr. Suzanne Manzi of Houston, TX, Nicole Lempa of Point Pleasant, Ryan Lempa and his wife Maura of Point Pleasant, and Douglas Lempa of New York City along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who she cherished to her heart.
The Manzi family would like to express its deepest gratitude to Olga’s Helpers, especially Maryana Shafran and Embracing Hospice for the exceptional care they gave Louise to help keep her in her home. We would also like to thank all of her friends at Greenbriar II for all their support and visits especially her best friend, Yetta Summer who never missed a day calling her and visited her on a daily basis.
Louise was all about family. She never missed a party and was always ready to toast everyone with a scotch in her hand and never said no to an invite to go out to breakfast, lunch or dinner. She loved life and lived it to the fullest.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday 11am at St. Peter’s RC Church in Point Pleasant Beach. Burial will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Embracing Hospice.
