Lillian Doris Rambo, 93, passed away peacefully at Harrogate Assisted Living in Lakewood. Born in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Harry and Anna Nelson, she was a longtime resident of Ridgewood and Linden before moving to Ocean County 33 years ago. Lillian was a graduate of Edison College and worked for Ridgewood High School as the Executive Secretary to the Principal, retiring in 1981. Mrs. Rambo was a member of the Berkeley Stars- O.E.S. and O.E.S. Gloria Chapter #19. She was an active member of her adult communities at Leisure Village West, Cedar Glen Homes, Holiday City South, and Harrogate. She enjoyed singing, dancing, bocce, golfing, and the friendships she made pursuing the activities she loved in her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Alan Rambo in 1983, her dear brother Harry Aluin Nelson in 1983, and her longtime significant other, Paul Padla in 2006.
Surviving are her loving daughter Karen Jentz and spouse Jeff, and her three grandchildren, Coral Shirin Jentz, Gretchen Layli Jentz, and Ian Roshan Jentz.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 2:00 to 5:00PM at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. Funeral services will be held with a prayer at 11:30AM at on Wednesday, October 29th at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown.
