Obituary for Joseph Mark McGovern

Joseph Mark McGovern, 75, of Point Pleasant Beach passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at his home. Mr. McGovern was a postal worker for many years for the US Post Office in Jersey City before retiring in 1985.
Born and raised in Jersey City, he lived in Asbury Park and Tinton Falls before moving to Point Pleasant Beach four years ago.
Mr. McGovern was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph F. and Elizabeth McGovern. Surviving is his loving wife, Mary Anne Weber McGovern; brothers, Mark E. McGovern MD and his wife, Mary Ann McGovern of Cincinnati, OH, Robert P. McGovern and his wife, Margaret Balsamo McGovern of Avon-by-the-Sea; sister, Betty and her husband, Russ Aaronson of Springfield, VA; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be on Friday from 4-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday 9am at St. Joseph’s RC Church, Toms River. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Toms River.
