Obituary for C.Raymond Jankowski

C. Raymond Jankowski, 88, of Lakewood and formerly of Wall, passed away on February 25, 2015. Born in Newark, he went on to faithfully serve his country in the US Army during WWII, as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division, Company E, 508th Parachute Infantry. He was proud to have been part of President Eisenhower’s Honor Guard. Upon his return, Raymond became a machinist, retiring in 1995 from Brockway Glass in Freehold.
Raymond loved music, and in his younger years, loved riding motorcycles. Above all, he was a “family man” and spent as much time as possible with his wonderful family. He will be dearly missed.
Raymond was predeceased by his parents, Francis & Julia, and his sister Phyllis DeJewski. He leaves his beloved wife of 59 years, Minnie (nee Carbone), son Steven of Wall, daughters Christine of Toms River and Marianne of West Palm Beach,Fla. grandchildren Shaye & Damon Lindsley and Elizabeth, Katherine, Meghan & Christopher Mecca.
Visitation will be at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, today, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Martha Church, 3800 Herbertsville Road, Pt. Pleasant, on Saturday at 9 A.M., with interment and military honors to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Neptune.
