Obituary for Paul F. Flammia Sr.

Paul F.  Flammia Sr.
Paul F. Flammia Sr. 88 of Wall Township passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at his home,
surrounded by his loving family.
Paul was born in and was a lifelong resident of Wall Township. He was a faithful Communicant of St. Rose Church, Belmar. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII. He was a founding member and Post Commander of the former Neptune City VFW Post # 9755. After its closing he transferred to the VFW Post 1838, Manasquan, where he was a lifelong member.
Paul was a Master Plumber operating his company in Wall Township for over 50 years. He had been the Past President of the Monmouth County Plumbers Association.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and farmer. Tending the farm was his greatest passion. He served as the Treasurer of the Jamesburg Field & Stream Hunting Club of Whiting for over 50 years.
Paul was predeceased by his wife Cecelia Nagle Flammia in 1985, his parents Carmine and Maria Pietrafesa Flammia and his siblings Carmine Flammia and Mary Tobin.
He is survived by his children and their spouses Paul and Pamela Flammia of Ocean Twp. and Debbie and Gary Bertolo of Farmingdale, his grandchildren and their spouses Paul and Kelly Flammia, Adam Bertolo, Matt and Nikki Flammia, Cara and Gary Candell and Courtney Flammia, his brother Joseph Flammia of California and his 10 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Sunday from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 10:00am at St. Rose Church, 603 7th Ave., Belmar. Burial with Military Honors will be in Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society, 2310 Hwy 34, Suite 1-D, Manasquan, NJ, 08736 ( Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home on Sunday ).
