Ksenia K "Karen"  Freibaum (Kaupelis)
Ksenia “Karen” Kaupelis Freibaum, 72, formerly of Rumson, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2015 at home in Brick. Born at Dr. Farmer’s private hospital in Allentown, NJ, she resided in Freehold most of her young life and graduated from Cathedral High School in Trenton.
After marrying, Karen raised a family while working as a nurse at Monmouth Medical Center for many years. Karen was very active in the church for many years at Holy Cross RC Church in Rumson and was a member of the 3rd Order of Carmelites. After retiring, Karen moved to Brick where she enjoyed her family and her life. A women of grace and beauty, she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Sade Kaupelis. Surviving are her loving daughter, Nadeen Rea and her husband, Matthew; her brother, Bill Kaupelis; her niece, Cynthia Kaplan and her husband, Jonathan and their two children, Charlie and Harper Kaplan.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10am on Friday, April 10, 2015 at St. Rose of Lima RC Church in Freehold. Burial of cremated remains will take place immediately after Mass at St. Rose Cemetery in Freehold. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Donations may be made in her name to the American Heart Association.
