Obituary for David Arthur Stevens

David Arthur Stevens, 79, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2015 at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood. Born in Coatesville, Indiana to the late Rosco and Ida Stevens, he was a longtime resident of Middletown, before residing in Naples, Florida and spending his summers in Lakewood. David was a graduate of Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana and was a member of their Alumni Association. He was also an avid golfer, and belonged to the USGA, and enjoyed playing bridge with his friends, and the quality time spent with his family.
He was preceded in death by his brother Walter Stevens.
Surviving are his loving children, Heather Perkins and husband Steven, Brett Stevens and wife Stacie, Rebecca Birney and husband Tim, Shelly Stevens, and Christi Stevens, his nine cherished grandchildren, his loving companion of 27 years, Jean Rosen, his dear sister Judith Burndt and husband Zernie, his former wives, Pat Stevens and Gretchen Stevens, and many dear friends and extended family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00PM at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in David’s memory to the Prostate Cancer Foundation,1250 Fourth Street, Santa Monica, CA 90401 or to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital
