Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Linda Beck can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Linda Grace Beck, nee Shemeley, 74, of Toms River passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2015. She led an active lifestyle and especially enjoyed skiing with her family, including annual ski trips to Colorado and Vermont. An avid golfer who took her fair share of “mulligans,” she proudly served as the treasurer of the Greenbriar Woodlands Golf League. Linda loved to travel and experienced many extraordinary destinations all over the world. Prior to retiring, she worked as a secretary for many years at JFK Hospital in Edison.
Born in Kearny, she lived in Colonia for 35 years before moving to the shore 15 years ago.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Kelsey and Nancy (Agnes) Shemeley. Surviving are her beloved husband of 52 years, Robert Beck, Sr.; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Jr. and Susan Beck; daughter and son-in-law Laura and Sean Clark; brother, Kelsey Shemeley Jr.; sister, Nancy Raefski; and adored granddaughter, Amanda.
Visiting will be on Tuesday from 3-7pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be conducted at 7pm in the funeral home. Final interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundwarriorproject.org) or Friends Helping Friends of New Jersey, an organization which provides financial assistance to families while a family member undergoes treatment for cancer.
