John "Michael"  Loeffert
John “Michael” Loeffert, 65, of Brick passed away on Friday, February 5, 2016 at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center in Philadelphia. Mr. Loeffert was a chemistry technician at the James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Plant in Oswego, NY for over 25 years before retiring in 2006. He lived many years in Oswego and Mexico, NY before moving to Brick, NJ in 2006.

Born in Lockport, NY he grew up in Burt, NY, and graduated from Newfane Central High School. He completed his formal education at the former Oswego State College in New York and was a proud member of the Sigma Tau Chi Fraternity. Michael was a well-respected man with a gift of intelligence and the ability to converse in all walks of life. He had a devout dedication to his fraternity brothers and was very involved with the Oswego Community Leadership Program. He loved reading, car racing, University of Michigan Basketball, NY Jets, golf, boating and his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Mae Loeffert. Surviving is his loving wife of 10 years, Nancy Weber-Loeffert; sons, Thomas Michael Loeffert of London, England and Richard Barrett Loeffert and his wife, Andrea of Morocco, Africa; step daughter, Nicole Fredricksen and her husband, Alan of Brick, step son, Brad Weber and his wife, Katie of Rumson; and step daughter, Kaitlyn Furey and her husband, Dennis of Hoboken; sister, Kathleen Hawks of Rochester, NY; as well as five grandchildren, Julianna, Kendall, Alexandra, Daniel, and Anna Jane.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 13, 2016 11 am at St. Peter’s RC Church in Point Pleasant Beach. The family will gather in the church at 10am before Mass. A celebration of life will follow from 12-4 at the White Sands in Point Pleasant Beach. Final interment will be held at a later date in New York. Donations may be made in his name to the Clyde F.
