Obituary for Leo J. McCarron

Leo J. McCarron 75 of Middletown, NJ died Saturday, April 30, 2016 at his home. Born in Newark, NJ Leo lived in Middletown. He was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, Middletown. Leo served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Leo worked as an Insulation Mechanic for Local 32, Newark, NJ until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of the VFW Post 4715, American Legion Post 196 both in Pt. Pleasant and a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Leo was a noted boxing fan, his interests include military history, computers and gardening. He enjoyed helping people and was a friend to everyone he met.
Leo was predeceased by his wife Gloria McCarron in 1997 and his K-9 companion Bosco in 2010. Surviving are his beloved fiancée Lois Grossman of Red Bank, a son Jamie McCarron of Middletown, a daughter; Susan L. Fritz of Rumson, his son-in-law and best friend Shawn Fritz, 2 stepsons; Richard Spinelli of Costa Rica, Peter Spinelli of Manchester, a stepdaughter; Toni DeCicco of Pt. Pleasant and many beloved grandchildren.
Visiting will be Wednesday, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. A Funeral Service will be Thursday, 10 AM at the funeral home followed by burial in Atlantic View Cemetery, Manasquan, NJ.
