Obituary for Marianne Tibbals (Sentner)
Marianne Tibbals (nee Sentner) died peacefully at home on June 25, 2016 after a long illness, surrounded by her family. It was the day of her 61st wedding anniversary to her husband Dr. Douglas Tibbals, formerly of Westfield, NJ.
Marianne was born January 16, 1934 in Jersey City, and spent most of her childhood in Montclair, NJ. She graduated from Lacordaire Academy in Montclair, attended Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY and graduated from St. Luke Hospital Nursing School, NYC.
Marianne loved children so very much and her family meant everything to her. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Doug, and her children and grandchildren, Teresa (Misty) Rutter and her husband Bruce and children Westly and Liam, Elizabeth Davy and her husband Sean and children Colin and Lily, Andrew Tibbals and his wife Heidi and their children Andrew, Summer, Stephen and Sarah, Wendy and her children Katherine and Emily and grandson Adam, David and his children Devyn and Luca, Margaret Mary (Megan) and her husband Eldred and their daughter Annie, Mathew and his wife Jamison and their children Douglas, Thomas (TJ) and Kate.
She was a strong and much loved mother to all of them.
Visitation will be on Wednesday June 29 at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35 at New Bedford Rd, Wall, NJ from 4-8PM. The funeral will be at St. Catharine’s Church in Spring Lake on Thursday, June 30 at 10:30 AM. Committal will follow in St. Anne Cemetery, Wall. You may honor her by donating to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
