Obituary for Geno Antognoli

Geno Antognoli, 88, of Point Pleasant, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016.
Mr. Antognoli was born in Archbald, Pa., to Alfred and Amelia Antognoli. He was raised in Pennsylvania and then lived in Spotswood, N.J. for many years. He moved to Point Pleasant in 1986 and recently moved to Lakewood. He served in the Navy during WWII, and went on to be a successful proprietor in the construction and electrical field. He enjoyed bowling, crabbing, traveling and vacationing with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and the most passionate fan at all of his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Mr. Antognoli was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Debra Antognoli, in 2013, and by his sister, Marie Snure. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Annabelle (nee Salamone). He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Gail and Tom Lavin, of Eatontown, Jean Ann and Jim Sierotko, of Milltown, and Geno, Jr. and Sandra Antognoli, of Bay Head. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Richard Sierotko, and his wife Michele, James Sierotko and his wife Suzanne, Geno Antognoli III, Nicholas Antognoli, and Abigail Antognoli, and he was the doting great-grandfather to Zach and Jacob Sierotko. Mr. Antognoli is also survived by many relatives and friends.
Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick, on Saturday, July 30, 2016, from 2-6 PM, with a prayer service at 5 PM. Final committal, with military honors, will take place at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown, on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Antognoli’s memory may be made to Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, at www.ccfa.org.
