Edward Thomas Strittmatter, 55, of Brick, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016.
Eddie was born in East Orange and raised in the Bloomfield area. He was a resident of Brick for many years. He proudly served for 25 years as a Senior Corrections Officer at East Jersey State Prison, before retiring. He was active in many organizations, including having served as Treasurer and Past-President of the Retired Police and Fire Association of Ocean County, and President of the Ocean County Emerald Society. Ed valued the many friendships he made through his involvement in these groups.
Eddie was predeceased by his parents, Edward Strittmatter and Joan Faux. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Kathy (Zech) Strittmatter. He was the loving uncle to many nephews and nieces, and a friend to many.
Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick, on Friday, August 5, 2016, from 2-4 PM, followed by a funeral service at 4 PM. Cremation took place privately.
