Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Joan Sawicki can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Joan I. Sawicki, 85, of Neptune City passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the Coral Harbor Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Neptune City. Mrs. Sawicki retired in 1998 as a Senior Clerk Typist at the Monmouth County Bridge Department in Freehold. She was a graduate of Manasquan High School. Most recently, she enjoyed participating in the many activities offered while living at Coral Harbor.
Born and raised in Newark, she lived in Spring Lake Heights, Belmar, and Shark River Hills before moving to Neptune City 51 years ago.
Surviving is her loving husband of 64 years, Stanley W. Sawicki; her children, David W. Sawicki of Massachusetts, Steven E. Sawicki and his wife, JoAnne of Point Pleasant Boro, Sharon L. Dreher and her husband, John of Brielle, Mark A. Sawicki and his wife, Amy of Tinton Falls, and Christopher S. Sawicki of Neptune City; 11 grandchildren, Jonathan, Melissa, Michael, Scott and his wife, Kimberly, Brian and his wife, Marissa, Joshua, Jessica, Kyle, Zachary, Jennifer and Jacob; as well as a great granddaughter, Sofia Rose.
Visiting will be on Thursday from 4-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35, Wall. A prayer service will be held at 8pm in the funeral home. Final interment will be private.
