Obituary for Karen Richard
Karen B. Richard, 57, of Howell passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016 at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Mrs. Richard was a registered nurse and worked at Holy Redeemer Home Care in Elizabeth. She was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford where she earned her degree in nursing.
Born in Elizabeth she grew up in Cranford before moving to Howell 32 years ago.
Mrs. Richard was predeceased by her father John Merritt and sister, Marie Priola. Surviving is her husband of 35 years, Kevin Richard; 2 daughters, Ashley Tronio and her husband, Robert of Brick, and Lauren Maccia and her husband, Michael of Howell; and 3 grandchildren, Nicholas, Alexander, and Addison. She also leaves her mother, Margaret Mcauliffe Merritt and her 7 brothers and sisters as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be on Wednesday from 4-8 pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday 10am at St. William the Abbott RC Church in Howell. Entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River. Donations may be made in her name to Michael’s Feat, The Michael Gerard Puharic Memorial Fund PO Box 787 Matawan NJ 07747.
