Robert Michael Castello, 76 of Shrewsbury and formerly of Sea Girt passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 27, 2016 with his loving family at his bedside.
Robert was born in Elizabeth. He was a graduate of Rutger’s University and a US Army veteran. He lived in Sea Girt for the past 15 years before moving to Shrewsbury 2 years ago. As a resident of Sea Girt, he was a devout Catholic and was a Communicant of St. Mark’s RC Church. He was also an active member of the Rev. John F. Welsh Council #3231 of the Knights of Columbus, Manasquan.
He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Devina DeTrolio Castello. Robert is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years Elaine (nee Tango) Castello, his beloved daughters Maria Castello of Wall, Cyndi Bratteson and husband Jeff of Rumson, his cherished grandchildren Ryan and Olivia Castello and Joey and Sophia Bratteson, his brother Larry Castello and wife Kathy of Burlington, Vt., and his sister Jean Mangini of New Smyrna, Fla.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 9:30am at St. Mark’s RC Church, 215 Crescent Parkway, Sea Girt. Private committal of his remains will be at the convenience of his family.
The family requests donations in lieu of flowers to St. Mark’s Church, Sea Girt in his eternal memory.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall Township.
