Obituary for Robert Curtis Betts

Robert Curtis Betts
Robert Curtis Betts, 55, of Wall, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, November 5, 2016.
Bob is survived by his two children, Tucker and Hannah and their mother Margaret. He also leaves behind his fiancée, Patricia and their two cats, Freya and Loki.
Bob spent several years as a Corpsman in the United States Navy and was very proud to serve his country. A generous and gregarious soul, Bob was an active participant in many Rainbow family communities. Bob was also an active member of The Society for Creative Anachronism. Within this historical reenactment group Bob was involved with teaching, fighting and archery. Bob served as an officer with his local group, The Barony of Carillion. A passionate cook, Bob was well known for his barbeque and creation of medieval feasts, many offerings of bacon were made as bribes. Bob was an environmental activist and helped organize relief kitchens after both Hurricane Katrina and Sandy. Bob was an avid musician and spent many years following The Grateful Dead. If all goes according to plan, he is playing with Jerry right now. Bob was also an avid collector of comics and anything related to Star Wars. His Stormtrooper collection is currently threatening to take over the home he shared with his fiancé, Patricia, who he loved dearly. Bob left the warmth of California nine years ago because of Patricia and never looked back. He did this, despite the fact it meant having to stay up late to watch his beloved San Francisco sports teams on the West Coast feed.
Bob left this world a better place and gentled the condition of those who walked along his path.
Please remember him as you think he would want. Have a drink, eat some bacon, donate to the family or your favorite charity and love your friends and family. Memorial visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2018 Hwy. 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall, on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, from 6-8 PM.
