Obituary for Eva Rose Wojcik (Krivancik)

Eva Rose Wojcik (nee Krivancik) 84, a resident of Avon-by-the-Sea, NJ, passed to her eternal reward peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 1, 2017. Born and raised in Bayonne, NJ, she attended The Woods Business School in New York City. Eva worked for Best Foods in Bayonne and concluded her career as an Executive Secretary in the Port Authority at the World Trade Center.
Eva will be missed by all who cherished her generous spirit and joyful radiance. She thrived not only by raising her own children but by extending open arms to all of her children’s friends, no matter the hour at which they were disposed to come and go from her home. She was a natural for her roles as a Cub Scout leader and President of Saint Peter’s Prep Mothers Club in Jersey City.
Eva tremendously enjoyed gatherings of friends and family, as she welcomed and entertained thousands who came to the Jersey Shore she held dear. She loved to be at the beach (but never swam). Upon retirement she wintered in Marco Island, Florida to be in the vicinity of sand and surf. When not at the beach she could be found shopping or enjoying Broadway musicals, of which “A Chorus Line” was her favorite. A songstress at heart, she relished singing along with Barbra Streisand CDs among many others. Most of all, her gifts of love and laughter brightened the lives of all whom she met.
Eva is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Walter Wojcik; her loving children Donald (Elizabeth) and Kathleen Ann Wojcik; her beloved grandchildren Alethea Hohenberger, Joshua (fiancée Jessica Gearhart) and Zachary Wojcik; her cherished great-grandchildren Fritz and Eva Rose Hohenberger and Cypress Bear Wojcik; and her treasured sister Paula Brennock. Eva was predeceased by her son Robert Wojcik and her sister Dorothy Krivancik.
Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Saturday, January 7 at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35, Wall, NJ. The Mass of the Resurrection celebrating Eva’s life will follow at noon at her parish church, Saint Elizabeth of Hungary, 424 Lincoln Avenue, Avon –by-the-Sea, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eva’s memory may be made to Saint Anthony’s Bread for the Poor, 144 W. 32 Street, New York, NY 10001-3202, www.anthonian.org.
