Obituary for Henry F. Schroeder

Henry F Schroeder, 82, of Spring Lake, died on June 23rd, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his sister, Joan Breiling and dedicated wife of 52 years, Maureen. He will be missed by his 4 children:
Kristen & Eric Barr, Allison Schroeder, Amy & Keith Stedronsky and Ted & Flora Schroeder and his 9 grandchildren: Candace, Michael, Dylan, Kate, Keith, Gus, Brooke, Lana and Hank Jr. He will join his first born son Paul in heaven.
Henry was born in Brooklyn, raised in Rego Park, NY and attended Stevens Technical Institute in Hoboken. Serving as an officer in the US Army, Henry was stationed in Germany. He was co-owner of a family owned butcher business in Brooklyn , NY.
After closing the business he moved to Kearny, NJ where he and his wife raised their 5 children and worked for Wakefern Food Corporation until his retirement. Hank enjoyed playing golf ,fishing, and bowling. He also was an avid bowler.
Hank exhibited grace under great physical difficulties as being a type -1 diabetic for 52 years. Courageous, selfless and held a strong work ethic in everything he did. Quite and unassuming unless engaged in political discussion or rooting for the NY Mets.
A gem of a gentlemen and gifted in providing comedic relief. Hank enjoyed the simple joys of life : family, meals, Mets and a seat on his lovely porch. Henry Schroeder will be sorely missed by many.
