Obituary for Maureen Donnelly (Clancy )

Maureen Donnelly (Clancy )
Maureen (Clancy) Donnelly, 79, of Point Pleasant died on August 12th at Sunnyside Manor surrounded by her family. Maureen was born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ, the only child of Thomas and Marie Clancy. She married Frank Donnelly, also of Elizabeth, and moved to the shore, living in Brick and Point Pleasant for over 35 years. In 2007, she joined the Greenbrier I community where she enjoyed many wonderful friendships.

Maureen was a communicant and longtime CCD teacher at Saint Martha’s Roman Catholic Church. She was co-owner and operator of the House of Hearing Aids in Point Pleasant and Lakewood for over 20 years.

Maureen’s greatest passion in life was spending time with both her immediate and extended family. Over the years, she consistently provided them with her love and support and was seldom absent from the many activities and events in which her children and grandchildren participated.

Maureen is predeceased by Frank, her beloved husband of 42 years. She leaves behind her four children and their spouses: Dr. Patrick Donnelly and his wife Deanna of Brick Township; her son Mike Donnelly and his wife Rachel of Yardley, Pa; her daughter Erin Donnelly and her partner Patti Mountjoy of Morris Township; and her daughter Meagan Conway and her husband Thomas of Point Pleasant Beach. A caring and devoted grandmother, she was “Nanny” to Frank, Maeve, Kevin, Molly, Declan, Aidan, Maura, Liam, Jack, and Julia.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to Adopt-A-Senior, adopt-a-senior.org or to Homeside Hospice of New Jersey, www.homesidehospice.com.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., Brick. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 16th at 9:30 a.m. at St. Martha’s RC Church, Pt. Pleasant. Cremation is private.
