Obituary for Amelia Young (Andriano )

Amelia Young, age 93, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017 at Shorrock Gardens in Brick. Born and raised in Long Island City, NY, Amelia spent her summers with family in Rocky Point, Long Island. She moved to Belford, NJ where she lived for over forty years before moving to Whiting where she most recently has resided.
Amelia was a member of the VFW in Middletown. She loved taking bus trips to Atlantic City but her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her first husband, Peter F. Vetro in 1944, her second husband Charles E. Young in 1973, and her daughter Ellen Meehan.
Surviving are her loving children; Marie Scalise and her husband Anthony, Karen Young, Peter Anthony Young and his wife Suzann and James E. Young; her grandchildren, Joe Scalise and his wife Christine, Jason A. Scalise, Sarah Young, Erin, Ryan and Dana Meehan, Riley and Dylann Lawrence and Amanda and P.J. Young; her great-grandson, Ian Alexander Young.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 from 4-6 p.m. at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., Brick. A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, October 19th at 10:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home followed by the interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
