Obituary for Joseph Floryan Haberek
Joseph Floryan Haberek, 56, of Point Pleasant Boro passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at his home. Mr. Haberek worked in sales as an account manager at ACO in Mentor, OH up until his passing. He was a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, MA receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He was a member and communicant of St. Peter’s RC Church in Point Pleasant. Joe enjoyed spending time at the beach, fishing and boating. Most of all, he loved being with his family.
Born in Teaneck, he grew up in Bergenfield and lived in Bay Head before moving to Point Pleasant 26 years ago.
He was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Helen Haberek. Surviving is his loving wife of 25 years, Kathi Boldt-Haberek; son, Gunnar Francis Haberek of Point Pleasant; daughter, Paige Mary Haberek of Point Pleasant; sisters, Susan Haberek Gillen of Westchester, PA, Barbara Haberek Boyne and her husband, Kevin of Westchester, PA and Claudia Theibault and her husband, Jeffrey of Brick; nieces and nephews, J.T. Gillen, Ian Gillen, Samantha Gentis, Alex Boyne, Tyler Boyne, Harrison Theibault and Alexis Cooper; many great nieces and nephews; as well as his beloved dog, Gus and previous dog, Rosie who passed away earlier.
Visiting will be on Monday from 4-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be conducted on Tuesday 10am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle. Donations may be made in his name to the Associated Humane Society Shafto Road, Tinton Falls or to the Scleroderma Foundation. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
