Obituary for John Grocki

John Grocki 62 of Neptune, NJ died Sunday, March 04, 2018 at Jersey Shore Univ. Medical Center, Neptune with his wife Carolyn by his side. Born and raised in Jersey City, John moved to Neptune 22 years ago. He was a police officer with the Jersey City Police Department until his retirement in 2005. During his career he was a K9 officer, motorcycle squad, narcotics unit, gang unit, accident investigation unit and one of his favorites the plain clothes assignment. After his retirement he became a NRA Law Enforcement Instructor and a firearms educational instructor. John worked at Garden State Shooting Center in Lakewood where he requalified Retired Police Officers and was able to fulfill a passion he had for teaching firearms safety and education.
John was predeceased by his mother Rita Grocki. Surviving are his beloved wife of 21 years, Carolyn Grocki, his father John Grocki of Middletown, DE, his daughter Julia Grocki of Wall, NJ, his brother Steve Grocki and his wife Collette of Millstone Township, NJ, his Godson and nephew Brandon Grocki of Millstone, NJ, his sister Linda Pniewski and her husband Len of Middletown, DE, and his nephews and nieces; Shannon, Jimmy, Jillian, Joey and Marlee.
Visiting will be Friday. March 9, from 4-8 PM at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. A private family service and committal will be held the following day.
