The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Robert New can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Susan Markenstein
Condolence: Bob was my mom's best friend for the last 9 years or so. I had the pleasure of knowing him myself through my mom's friendship with him. He was an incredibly kind man, so happy to do anything to help other people. Always smiling. He went twice a week to visit local nursing homes and spend time with the folks there. He helped my mom find her way around when she first moved to the Brick area, which grew into an enduring friendship. They met just about every week at church. Bob liked the crab cakes at Charlie Brown's, but you couldn't get him to go out to eat much of anything else. He brought my mom paper towels every week; she gave him her recyclables each week. Mom feels sad and sends her condolences to his family (as do I). She misses him but says she knows he is in heaven. Of that I am certain. Blessings to his family.
