Obituary for Janet Kokoll
Janet Kokoll, 102, of Spring Lake Heights, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018, at her home.
Mrs. Kokoll was born November 23, 1915 in Newark, N.J., the daughter of John and Josephina Lucas. She also lived in Hillside, NJ before moving to Spring Lake Heights in 1953. Her husband Anthony died in 1975. She was also predeceased by her brothers Antone, Charles and Stanley as well as her sister, Bernice Healing.
She is survived by her children Marcia Johnston of Pine Beach, Kenneth Kokoll and his wife Katharyn of Brick, Anthony Kokoll of Spring Lake Heights, and Peter Kokoll of Standish, Maine. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, as well as Mrs. Kokoll’s sister, Mary Bataille, of Clinton, N.J. She was employed as a cafeteria worker at St. Rose High School, in the billing office at Monmouth Medical Center and closed out her working career at Manasquan Savings Bank before retiring in 1980. Janet was a devout Catholic and was a daily communicant at St. Catharine’s Church for many years after she retired.
Visitation will be held at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Thursday June 7th, 2018 from 8:30-10:00 AM. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catharine’s Church, Spring Lake. on Thursday at 10:30 AM followed by burial at St. Anne’s Cemetery in Wall.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Kokoll’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
