Condolence: Sending love and condolences to Barbara and Tom two amazing parents, Petra and Christiaan’s children. My heart is broken for you. Christiaan was the closest thing I ever had to a brother and although I have not seen him in years I miss him everyday. I cannot be there in person as I have recently moved to Texas but I am there in spirit and I hope he has found peace. All my love!

Condolence: We are deeply saddened to hear of Christiaan's passing. My fond memories of him include the many times he was a welcome guest at our home. He never neglected to thoroughly wipe his feet on the mat before crossing the threshold. I always complimented his good manners and he said my mother taught me well. Yes you did indeed teach him-how to be a kind, cheerful, courteous person. I imagine Christiaan wiping his feet as he crosses another threshold and being welcomed with open arms.
May your gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Condolence: I remember Christiaan when he was my student at Monmouth County Vocational School in Wall. From 16-18 years old, he was with me for 1/2 the day, and we all had a great time together. He was long and lanky then, with a big pile of curly hair and the kindest eyes you've ever seen. I can see him in his baggy clothes shuffling around the room and singing. He was something special. Also very troubled, which is so sad. I remember Christiaan's family, exasperated with his antics. I pitied them their frustrations, and now, their pain. I hope he is enjoying the peace and happiness that evaded him in this life, and that he knows how loved and missed he will always be. Christiaan Rose was unforgettable. Ironically, I met him, and now I am saying goodbye to him, on New Bedford Road in Wall. Funny how some things go full circle. Sending you love, peace and some sense of acceptance- Judy Sobko (Miss S) Goodyear, Arizona

Condolence: For a time when i didnt have much as the new kid in town you showed yourself a true person of heart. Still remember the night i stayed at your house as a young teen and we paid for pizza delivery in all change. As the delivery guy sat counting the amount for the pizza you searched your house for a tip. You came up with $4.21 as a tip, odd number but pressed into my memory. Somehow you made it worthwhile for for him to sit and count change. A memory of you for everyone. Rest well past friend. For all that new Christian, go further for someone today, because he would of.

Condolence: I knew Christiaan in the sweet early days, when he was my art student at MC Vocational School in Wall. It's ironic that I met him on New Bedford Rd. and that's where we're saying goodbye. He was only 16-18 years old, long and lanky then, with baggy clothes, a ton of messy curls and those soft, gentle eyes. His road wasn't easy, but he added a bright spot of warmth to my classroom every day. I really loved him. He knew that, and though I never saw him again after graduation, I never forgot him singing in my room and sharing great big laughs. I will always remember that precious, fragile kid, and send all of my love, sympathy and distant heartbreak, for what could have been. Bless him and his family. -Judy Sobko (Miss S), Goodyear, Arizona.
