Obituary for Martin Alvarez Jr.

Martin Alvarez, Jr., 29, of Brick died suddenly on Monday, June 3, 2019 while involved in a motorcycle accident in Neptune. Martin worked as an auto body mechanic at Jost Auto Body in Neptune for many years. He was a graduate of Manasquan High School. He was a gym fanatic and loved to workout religiously. Martin was a member of the NJ Riders Motorcycle Club of Monmouth County and had many friends from all walks of life. He was loved by all and will be missed terribly especially by his two Chihuahuas, Cookie and Tiny, whom he considered family.
Born in Neptune, he lived in Manasquan, Brick, Bradley Beach and Los Reyes, Maichoacan, Mexico before recently moving back to Brick.
Martin was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Jorge Rocha. Surviving are his, mother, Isabel Rocha of Brick; father, Martin Alvarez, Sr. of Mexico; brothers, Richard Alvarez of Lakewood and Manuel Alvarez of Mexico; sisters, Ruth Alvarez Rocha, Mary Carmen Salas Rocha, Maria Guadalupe Alvarez and Febe Alvarez all of Mexico; maternal grandmother, Maria Alvarez; paternal grandmother, Marcelina Mendoza; paternal grandfather, Martin Alvarez; as well as many more extended family members and very dear friends.
Friends and family may visit on Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 12-2pm and 5-7pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be conducted at 6:45pm in the funeral home. Cremation will be private burial of his cremated remains will take place in Mexico at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Foundation.
