Claire Ruth Knaus, 91 of Tinton Falls passed away Monday, January 29, 2018 at Renaissance Gardens, Tinton Falls.

Claire was born in Holyoke, Mass and resided in Harrison until college and then in Union for most of her life before moving to SeaBrook Village, Tinton Falls 11 years ago. She had graduated from Harrison High School and Tufts University.

Claire was devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren. She also cherished the many close friends she had from the many clubs she belonged to including her swim clubs, golf, tennis, bowling and bridge clubs. She also loved to travel with family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Kurt Knaus, her parents Alexander and Anna Songile, her grandson Jake Travers and her brother Walter Songile.

Surviving are her devoted children and their spouses Cynthia and Lawrence Travers of Wall Twp., and Robert Knaus and wife June of Dayton, Maryland, 3 grandchildren Kathryn Knaus, Kimberly Murphy and husband Ryan, and Nicole Travers, and 1 great granddaughter Riley Murphy and a great grandson about to be born, and her sister in law Dorothy Songile, Harrison.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation from 11:00am until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00pm on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. Private committal will follow.
