Obituary for Charles W. Williams Jr.

Charles W. Williams Jr., 83, of Spring Lake Heights passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
Born in Neptune, he had resided in Brielle before moving to Spring Lake Heights 62 years ago. As a Spring Lake Heights resident, he was a Communicant of St. Catharine’s/St. Margaret’s Parish.
Charles was a Master Carpenter and Craftsman. He was employed by a few local construction companies and at the time of his retirement he was working for Felix Cahn Inc. of Bradley Beach. Charles was a member of the Spring Lake Heights Fire Department for about 10 years. He was instrumental in building the present fire house.
He had many hobbies during his life. He enjoyed home repair, was a master woodworker, and was an enduro dirt bike rider. Charles and his wife were avid square dancers in Allenwood and Neptune for over 30 years.
Surviving is his devoted wife and caretaker of 62 years Judith (nee Keeshan) Williams, his two beloved daughters and their husbands Carol Ann and Thomas Brahn of Spring Lake Heights, and Cathleen Elizabeth and James Butler of Westfield, MA, his six grandchildren Christopher, Justin and Shannon Brahn, and Marguerite, Seamus, and Aisling Butler, and his brother-in-law and wife James and Kathy Bergan of Brick and their daughter Katie Scanlon.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, December 21, 2020 at 10:30am in St. Margaret’s Church, Corner of 3rd and Ludlow Aves., Spring Lake. Entombment St. Catharine’s Cemetery.
His family would like to acknowledge his special caregivers Justin, Kelly, Prince, JoJo, Anthony and Joan whom without them his family would have been lost.
Due to Gov. Murphy’s Covid-19 restrictions, there are limitations on capacity at the funeral home. Guests are asked to briefly greet the family for the visitation and exit the building. Face-coverings must be worn to enter the building.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Way, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Jersey Shore Rescue Mission, 701 Memorial Dr., Asbury Park, NJ 07712 in his memory.
