Obituary for S. Salvatore Ferraro

S. Salvatore Ferraro, 85, of Spring Lake Heights passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Care One at Wall. He was a devoted husband, father of 5 and grandfather of 11.
Salvatore was loved, admired and respected by family and friends.
He proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS Wasp, and saw action during the Korean War.
Following the war, he went on to graduate from Seton Hall University and attended graduate school at Columbia University.
Salvatore retired from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
As a longtime resident of Spring Lake Heights, he was 50+ year parishioner of St. Catharine's Church, Spring Lake, and had been a volunteer fireman in Spring Lake Heights for over 25 years.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 48 years Ann Marie (nee Barr) Ferraro and his daughter Diane.
Surviving family consists of son Steve, his wife Elaine and children Nicholas, Katie and Olivia; Daughter Nancy Ferraro-Negri and her husband Barry and children Gabriella and Mikey; Daughter Tracey Frohlich, her husband Edwin and sons Tanner and Parker; Son Michael, his wife Cheryl and children Amanda and Kyle; Daughter Patti Glavin and her children Irelyn and Luke; and his brother Leonard Ferraro of Toms River.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Friday from 2-4 PM and 7-9PM at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35 at New Bedford Rd.,Wall followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 9:00am at St. Catharines Church, 215 Essex Ave. Spring Lake. Interment in the Ferraro family plot in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wall.
