Loren Peter Shoemaker, 70, of Sea Girt, NJ and Naples, FL, passed away on August 30, 2018. Born in Manhattan, NY and raised in Sea Girt. Loren, a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College, had a successful career as an Insurance Executive for over 45 years, retiring from Munich Re/Hartford Steamboiler. Loren was a proud and active member of the Sea Girt community – honorably volunteering with the Fire Department. He believed in being in service to others, from serving his country in the US Army during Vietnam, to serving as a mentor within the communities he resided, all while raising his beloved family. Loren loved the beach and was a devoted season ticket holder to the NY Giants. But above all, he loved his family and strived to make the world a better place each and every day.
Loren was predeceased by his parents, John & Laura Shoemaker. He leaves his cherished and devoted wife, Donna; sons Tyler & wife Erica of Pt. Pleasant Beach, NJ, and Kyle & wife Berkeley of Naples, FL. Loren was anticipating his first grandson, for whom he will be a guardian angel.
Viewing will begin at 3pm on Wednesday September 5th at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35, Wall, and will conclude with a 7pm service.
