Obituary for Stella Jean Copeland

Stella Jean Copeland, 88, beloved mother of Kathleen Albin, passed away on August 30th at Jersey Shore Medical Center. Born in Linden, she formerly resided in Liberty Corner, Bernards Township, before moving to Spring Lake Heights seven years ago. Mrs. Copeland was a Real Estate Broker for over twenty years alongside her husband at Copeland Reality in Far Hills as well as the owner and operator of an antiques store in Far Hills. Stella was an active volunteer and parishioner of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Basking Ridge for many years. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society as well as volunteering to put on musicals and fashion shows for the church. Stella enjoyed musicals, singing, dancing, cooking, and had a natural talent for oil painting. She was a real people person who enjoyed the company of her friends and family. Mrs. Copeland was a devoted mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who loved her.
Stella is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years Peter Michael Copeland in 1992, as well as her two sisters Wanda Buzinskis and Jean Paffrath.
Surviving are her loving daughters, Kathleen Albin and husband Tom of Sea Girt and Lynn Marie Copeland of Huntington Beach, CA; her dear sister Irene Close of Barnegat, and her three cherished grandchildren, Douglas Thomas and John Paul Albin, both of Sea Girt, and Lauryn Kate Tucay and husband Cris of Irvine, CA.
Visitation will be Monday, September 5th from 5:00 to 8:00PM at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM, Tuesday, September 6th at St. James R.C. Church, 184 South Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge.
