Obituary for Dr James Michael Primavera

Dr. James Michael Primavera died on Wednesday, August 12, 2020. He was born on September 4, 1967. His parents are Drs. Anne and Louis Primavera. His parents loved and adored him, and they knew how much he loved them. He had one brother, Dr. William L. Primavera who he loved and was his best friend and confidant. He spent his childhood in Seaford, New York. Dr. Primavera attended St. William the Abbot Elementary School, Seaford Elementary School and Chaminade High School. He then attended St. John’s University where he graduated with high honors and was president of the premedical society. He attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha, the only honor society in medicine. Dr. Primavera went on to complete residencies in Anatomical and Surgical Pathology and Clinical Pathology at New England Deaconess of the Harvard Medical System. He was chief resident his last year of Clinical Pathology. He went on to complete a fellowship in Neuropathology at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Primavera held several positions as pathologist. He was a member of the College of American Pathologist and the American Association of Blood Banks. He held boards in both Anatomical and Surgical Pathology and Clinical Pathology. He is the co-author of a number of publications in Pathology and was highly regarded by his colleagues as an outstanding pathologist and friend. He was loved and admired by everyone who had the good fortune to know him.

For the past 4 years, Dr. Primavera resided in Brick, New Jersey. He was happily married to Tracey Primavera who he loved and adored. He had two daughters, Samantha Primavera of Hampton, New Hampshire and Shelby Albankis of Brick, New Jersey. He also had four loving nieces. He was a loving and dedicated father, husband, uncle, and son. He had a giving spirit and enthusiastically gave his help to anyone who could benefit from his vast knowledge and expertise. He loved to teach and treasured sharing his knowledge with others. He loved music and was a talented musician.
