Obituary for Alfred A DiBiase Jr.

Alfred A. DiBiase, Jr., 64, of Manville died on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Somerville. Mr. DiBiase retired many years ago as a Captain of the Irvington Fire Department. He was a member of the Retired Fireman Association of Irvington and the NJ Jazz & Blues Foundation in Red Bank. He organized and facilitated countless events with the Jazz and Blues Foundation that helped individuals and families in financial need. Every Christmas, Alfred would dress as Santa and provide gifts to each of the children affected at St. Barnabas Medical Center Burn Unit in Livingston in conjunction with the Irvington Fire Department.

Born in Newark, he grew up in Irvington and lived in Edison, Bridgewater, Caldwell and North Plainfield before moving to Manville 27 years ago.

He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred A. DiBiase, Sr. and Leatrice A. DiBiase. Surviving are his brother, Donald R. DiBiase of Sterling, VA; sister, Denise K. Sala and her husband, Thomas A. of Wall; nephews, Stephen M. Sala and Nicholas M. Sala both of Wall; many cousins and dear brothers and sisters of the Irvington Fire Department.

Viewing will be on Friday, July 26 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35, Wall, NJ. A prayer service will be conducted at 8:30pm at the funeral home. Final interment will be held privately.
