Obituary for Alice M Roman (Karpiak )
Alice M. Roman (Karpiak), age 98, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Crest Pointe Nursing Home in Point Pleasant. Born in Camden, Alice was raised in Pottstown, PA. She also lived in Pennsauken, North Palm Beach, Maple Shade and Mt. Laurel.
Mrs. Roman worked in sales for many years for Strawbridge and Clothier in Cherry Hill.
Alice was an avid reader and an amazing cook. She loved to play cards and enjoyed singing and dancing.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph H. Roman, Sr. in 1980; her parents, Ignace and Mary (Econiak) Karpiak; her brother, Paul Karpiak; her sister, Helen (Karpiak) Santucci; and her son in law, Thomas A. Walsh, Jr.
Surviving are her children, Joseph H. Roman, Jr. ( Maryanne) and Barbara Walsh; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Our Lady of Good Council Church, 42 W. Main Street, Moorestown, NJ 08057 followed by the burial of cremated remains at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Blackwood.
Donations can be made in Alice’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to St. Joseph’s Church, 1010 Liberty Street, Camden, NJ 08104.
