Obituary for Alice Kathleen Luchino (Conaghan)

Alice Kathleen Luchino, 88, formerly of Brick passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at the Bayshore Healthcare Center in Holmdel. Mrs. Luchino retired in 1997 as a registered nurse at the JFK Medical Center in Edison after 43 years of dedicated service. She was a graduate of Holy Family Academy in Bayonne and then she received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Jersey City State College in Jersey City. She completed her Nursing Degree from Jersey City Medical Center.
Alice was a communicant of The Church of St. Martha in Point Pleasant and was a former member of St. Cecilia’s RC Church in Iselin. She also was a member of the Parent Teacher’s Association.
Born and raised in Bayonne, she lived in Iselin for many years before moving to Brick in 1999.
Her husband, Cosimo “Casey” Luchino died in 2015 and was also predeceased by her brothers, Jack and Patrick Conaghan; and by her sister, Bridget Breivogel. Surviving are her 5 sons, Donald J. Luchino of Perth Amboy, Robert J. Luchino and his wife, Stephanie of Mountainside, Thomas P. Luchino and his wife, Susan of Freehold, John C. Luchino and his wife, Theresa of Bethlehem, PA and Paul D. Luchino and his wife, the late Carol Luchino of Spotswood; 6 grandchildren, Casey, Alison and her husband, David, Erin, Ryan, Katie and Steven; 3 great grandchildren, Audrina, Ace and Emilee; 4 sisters, Sally Kinsella of Cranford, Anne Cook and her husband, Francis of Neptune, Kathleen O’Donnell of Cranford and Denise Conaghan of Colts Neck; as well as her sisters-in-law, Lore Conaghan of Toms River and Toni Conaghan of Spring Lake; and brother-in-law, Jack Breivogel of Avon-by-the-Sea.
Visiting will be on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 9-10:30am at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Funeral Mass will follow 11am on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at The Church of St. Martha, 3800 Herbertsville Road, Point Pleasant. Cremation will be private.
