Obituary for Ann Gale

Ann Gale, age 85, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022. Born in Brisbane, Australia on January 12, 1937. Ann moved to the United States at an early age and settled in Morganville, NJ, where she spent the next 40 years.

Ann married Ronald N. Gale on May 12, 1956. They moved to Spring Lake, NJ in 1985. In her spare time, Ann enjoyed swimming at the Spring Lake pavilions where she had many friends. More notably, she started running after raising her children and won many races for her age group at the Jersey Shore. She also loved to travel throughout Europe and especially Paris, France. Ann was proud of her Australian and Irish heritage and would frequent the Belmar-Lake Como parade with her family. She was a devout Catholic all her life and worshiped at St. Clements in Matawan and later at St. Catharine’s in Spring Lake. Ann coordinated and delivered meals for Meals on Wheels and supported the Spring Lake Fire and Police Departments. Prior to her retirement, she was a Telecommunications Specialist, working in NYC for many years.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald N. Gale. Surviving are her children, Ronald Gale and his wife, Kellee of Hoboken, Nancy Gale and her husband, Phil Fantozzi of Tewksbury, Lesley Saffadi and her husband, George of Hopewell Junction, NY, and Robert Gale and his wife, Catherine of Belmont, MA; her brother, Justin McElligott; grandchildren, Alexander, Elizabeth, and Victoria.

Viewing will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022 from 8:30-10 a.m. at O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35, Wall followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Margaret's RC Church located at the Corner of 3rd and Ludlow Aves in Spring Lake, NJ. Interment will follow at Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan.
