Obituary for Anna Alicia Teresa Dougherty (McKeever)

Anna Alicia Teresa (nee McKeever) Dougherty, 93 of The Arbors, Spring Lake Heights, Monmouth County, New Jersey, USA passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Manor by the Sea, Ocean Grove, New Jersey.

Born in Druminshingore, Carrigallen, Co. LeitrimIreland to the late Michael and Anna Alicia (nee Murray) McKeever, she emigrated to the United States in 1957 residing in New York, Ohio, and then in New York again before moving to Spring Lake Heights, New Jersey in 1989 and then for the past 5 years she had resided at The Arbors.

As a resident of Spring Lake Heights, she was a Communicant of St. Catharine & St. Margaret Parish, Spring Lake. 

She had been employed by the New Jersey Bell Telephone Co., Newark, NJ as a Circuit Layout Person for most of her life retiring 30 years ago. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

Anna was predeceased by her parents, her husband (ret). Captain of the Essex County Prosecutors Office, Bart J. Dougherty on October 28, 2006, and her siblings James, John, Michael, Patrick, Francis, May Sheridan, and Rosaleen Moran.

Surviving is her brother Dan McKeever of Donegal, Ireland, sister in law Monica and many nieces, nephews and cousins in both the United States and Ireland.

Visitation will be on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 8:30am to 9:30am at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall Twp., NJ followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am EST at St. Catharine’s Church, 215 Essex Ave., Spring Lake, NJ. The Mass will be broadcast live on https://venue.streamspot.com/93d8764d. Burial will be in St. Catharine Cemetery, Sea Girt, NJ immediately after Mass.
