Obituary for Charles Olimpio Jr.

Charles Olimpio, Jr., age 88, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019. Charles was born on June 15, 1931, the son of the late Charles Olimpio and Suzanne (Valenti) Pecorari.
Charles attended Linden High School, before graduating from Rutgers University School of Journalism in 1956 as a Henry Rutgers Scholar with honors. Charles proudly served his country in The Korean War from 1949-1952. He loved his college experience and continued to write his entire life. He had a long successful career as President of C & M Associates.
Charles will be best remembered for his sense of humor, keen intellect and wit. He loved golfing and walking outdoors for many years. He volunteered for a number of organizations including Recording for The Blind, Carrier Clinic and was a practicing Buddhist.
Charles loved being a father and grandfather of a large brood and is survived by his five loving children Nancy, Joanne, Elaine, Edward and Stephen Olimpio and his sixteen grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Frank Pecorari and his wife Dolores and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Joyce Lynch.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday evening, July 18, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, N.J. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared so lovingly for him during his illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Meridian Health Foundation, 1340 Campus Parkway, Building C--Unit 4, Neptune, New Jersey 07753.
