Obituary for Cornelia "Connie" Iorio (Vroeginday)

Cornelia “Connie” Iorio, nee Vroeginday, 89, of Brick passed away peacefully on Monday,
January 8, 2024 at her home in Brick surrounded by her family. Mrs. Iorio retired in 1996 from
the carpeting department at Huffman Koos in River Edge. She was a loving wife, mother,
grandmother, and great grandmother. Connie was a member of the Pinelands Reformed Church
in Toms River and a former deacon at the Cherry Hill Reformed Church in River Edge. She also
served as an active volunteer and treasurer of the Cherry Hill Elementary School PTA.

Connie was born in, and grew up in Clifton, but spent summers at the beach in Belmar, where
she met Neil, her husband of 65 years before his passing in 2021. They lived in River Edge for
over 30 years before moving to the Greenbriar in Brick 27 years ago. Connie was a very
outgoing person who was kind to everyone she met, and made friends where ever she went.

Connie joins her husband, Neil in Heaven. She is survived by her sister, Jeanette Sasiela of
Clifton, and her children, son, Thomas Iorio and his wife, Aimee of Westwood; daughters,
Donna Rothwell and her husband, George of Effort, PA and Karen Iorio and her husband, John
Glod of Rockville, MD; 9 grandchildren, Steven, Suzanne and her husband, Matthew, Samantha,
Benjamin, Nathaniel, Sophia, Jackson, Timothy, and Isabella; as well as 5 great grandchildren,
Anthony, Christian, Guiliana, Matthew, and Noah.

A graveside service will be conducted 11:30am on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Crest Haven
Memorial Park, 750 Passaic Avenue, Clifton. Friends and relatives are asked to meet directly at
the cemetery.
