Obituary for David George Edward Turner

David George Edward Turner, 84, of Point Pleasant passed away suddenly in the early morning hours of Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at his home.  Mr. Turner worked in the automobile business both here in the United States and in his native country of England where he owned and operated a car dealership. He retired many years ago. David was an extraordinary gardener, he loved tending to his plants and flowers every Spring.  He was also an avid reader, enjoyed crosswords, Sudoku, and playing cards with his family, and had a love for jelly donuts and strawberry ice cream. 

David was born in Dagenham, Essex, England.  He came to the United States in 1994 and settled in Suffern, NY before moving to Point Pleasant, NJ. 

David now joins his predeceased daughter, Maria Louise Turner in Heaven.  Surviving is his loving wife, Eileen (Ashenden) Turner; daughter, Denice Desmond and her husband, Stephen of Point Pleasant and formerly of New City, NY; 3 grandchildren, Kate Messinger and her husband, Nicholas, Meghan Henry and her husband, Jonathan and Claudia Desmond; as well as his 3 great grandchildren, Charlotte Mae, Desmond James and Cruz William.

David’s generosity, infectious smile, and endless love for his family will always remain in our hearts.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20th, 2024 from 3-7pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick.  A prayer service will be conducted at 7pm in the funeral home.
