Della Nash Garrabrant, age 93, of Neptune City, passed away on Saturday, Jane 30, 2021 at her home. Born in Lawrence Township, NJ, she attended Lawrence Township Schools, Trenton Catholic High School, Mercyhurst College and Monmouth College where she graduated. Her first job was at DeLaval Stream Turbine Company in Trenton where she met her devoted husband of 69 years, F. Leroy Garrabrant, Jr.
Della was active in many civic organizations including the AAUW and Zonta. She took a leadership role in fundraising for the Monmouth College Library Association. She served as the secretary for former Monmouth County Freeholder, Buddy Allen. She was also active in real estate as the broker for the Wall Township office of the Garrabrant Agency, her husband’s firm. She served two terms as a member of the Neptune City Board of Education. She was an avid golfer and played in a weekly women’s league.
She was predeceased by her husband, F. Leroy Garrabrant, Jr. and her mother, Della I. Nash of Lawrence Township.
She is survived by her two sons, Thomas and his wife, Janet-Lynn of Philadelphia and Robert and his wife, Janice; her grandsons, Andrew and his wife, Hannah, and Brendan; her great-grandsons, Oliver and Nathan.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 from 2-5 p.m. at O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 10th at 12:00 p.m. at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls.
