Obituary for Dolores L. Franks (Accomando)

Dolores Lorraine Franks, ninety one years old, of Tinton Falls, N.J., passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

Dolores was born and raised in Newark, N.J. and it was there in 1951 that she met and married the love of her life, Nick. sixty-four wonderful years followed. For the first thirty-five years they raised their family in the memorable town of Nutley, N.J. Dolores and Nick enjoyed their retirement years together in Sea Girt, N.J. until Nick’s passing in 2015. For the past three years, Dolores had resided at Seabrook Independent Living, Tinton Falls, N.J.

Dolores attended Central High School in Newark and upon graduation, she worked at Prudential Insurance. While in Nutley, she embraced and enjoyed her role as a homemaker as she and Nick raised their three children. Eventually, she assumed an administrative position at Hoffman LaRoche, Nutley and was recognized as an exemplary employee.

Dolores had a full and wonderful life and she lived it to the fullest with her immediate family, relatives and friends. Love was at the center of her person and cooking was just one of its many expressions. Her good will toward others was always evident and it continued in her later life as she engaged in volunteer work for Seabrook residents with greater needs. Dolores truly lived a life of significance.

She was predeceased by her parents, Michael Accomando and Lisa. Husband Nick passed in 2015 and grandson Scott in 2019. Dolores is survived by her beloved children, Kathy Franks of Nutley, Matt Franks and wife Lisa of Asbury Park, N.J. and Nick Franks Jr. and his wife Emily.; her six cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Carly and Joe, Jaclyn and Andy, Britney and Rocco, Matt, Christine and Sean; her five amazing great grandchildren, Lucas, Mason, Max, Sophia and Schaefer, her sister Bette Kruse of Bay Head and her sister-in-law Marianne Franks of Nutley.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday October 29 from 4 – 8 PM, at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall, N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday October 30 at 10:30 AM at St. Denis R.C. Church, 90 Union Ave., Manasquan, N.J. 08736.
