Donald Joseph Del Nero, 78, of Spring Lake Heights passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Capital Regional Heath Medical Center. Born in Weehawken, NJ, Donald was raised in Lodi, NJ.

After graduating from Lodi High School, where he played as the star quarterback, Donald continued his education at William Paterson College where he received his BA in Education and later attained his Master of Science Education degree from Monmouth University. Prior to his retirement, Donald was a Culinary Arts Professor at Bergen Community College, Paramus, NJ for 30 years where he touched many lives of the students, he crossed paths with.

Donald was a member of the New Jersey Shore BMW Riders Club and ran in three Marine Corps marathons and The Philadelphia marathon. Donald enjoyed riding his motorcycle with friends and family, walks with bailey, and bike rides along the beach with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Rose Anne Del Nero; children, Nicole Anne Del Nero, Julia Rose Del Nero, Donna Rooney, Donald Del Nero, Jr.; and sister, Linda Dabak; cherished grandchildren, Melissa and Kevin Rooney and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visiting will be Wednesday, April 27th from 4-7 p.m. at O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35, Wall, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be offered Thursday, April 28th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catharine's Church, Essex Ave. Spring Lake, N.J.
