Dorothy M. Donnelly, 92, of Brick passed away peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2019 at Brandywine Assisted Living in Brick. Mrs. Donnelly worked as a claims manager at Prudential Life Insurance for many years before retiring in 1991. Dorothy was a communicant of St. Dominic’s RC Church in Brick. She enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting and jigsaw puzzles. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family, especially her adored grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Born in Washington, DC she lived in Glen Ridge and Clifton for most of her life before moving to Brick 20 years ago.
Mrs. Donnelly was predeceased in 2005 by her loving husband, Robert M. Donnelly; and by her sisters, Harriett Garside and Barbara Farnsworth.
Surviving are her sons, Chuck Donnelly and his wife, Joan of West Milford and Bill Donnelly and his wife, Tara of Upper Montclair; daughter, Diane Hoffman and her husband, Andrew of Brick; brother, John Frishett and his wife, Judy of Boise, ID; as well as her 7 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 9am on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at St. Dominic’s RC Church in Brick. The family will gather in the funeral home at 8am before Mass. Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association of NJ would be appreciated.
