Obituary for Edward T. "Ted" Langenberger

Edward T. “Ted” Langenberger, 84, of Lakewood passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 21, 2019 surrounded by his family. Mr. Langenberger was an electrician by trade. He worked for many years at Thomas & Betts Electric in Elizabeth before retiring in 1997. He proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1954-1958. Mr. Langenberger was a communicant of St. Dominic’s RC Church in Brick and was a founding member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #5503 in Clark. He enjoyed painting with watercolors, fishing and golfing. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Born and raised in Elizabeth, he raised his family and lived in Clark for 43 years before moving to the Lion’s Head Woods Community of Lakewood 14 years ago.
Mr. Langenberger was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Rita Langenberger. Surviving are his beloved wife of 60 years, Joan A. Langenberger; a son, Edward “Ted” of Lakewood; daughters, MaryAnn Fernandes and her husband, Michael of Barnegat and Donna M. McGuire and her husband, John of Linden; sisters, Barbara Mahoney and her husband, Thomas of Toms River and Diane Schroeter of Jensen Beach, FL; as well as 6 grandchildren, Kristina and her fiancé, Tom, Ali, Danny, John, Kevin and Matthew.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 4-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick, NJ 08724. A Funeral Mass will be offered 10am on Friday, October 25, 2019 at St. Dominic’s RC Church, 250 Old Squan Road, Brick, NJ 08724. Burial will follow at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, 1 Honey Locust Drive, Lakewood, NJ 08701. Donations may be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association of New Jersey, 425 Eagle Rock Avenue, #203 Roseland, NJ 07068
